raised garden boxes

Yesterday I pulled the bean plants from one of the garden boxes to make room for 6 cabbage transplants. The weather around here is finally starting to cool down and so I think I’ll set out a few cold weather crops this week.

So far we have chard, kale, cabbage, carrots and beets planted.

Next on my “to plant” list is broccoli, 2 rows of lettuce, radishes, bok choy and turnips. We don’t have a ton of room, but the weather here is usually pretty mild in the fall and it’s nice to grow a small assortment of veggies.

I try and plant one row for us… and one row for Lucy.

Some people have to compete with squirrels and rabbits in their garden.

We’ve got Lucy. 😉

Have a great day everyone,

~Mavis

Lucy only likes the freshest of beans, I see. I love seeing pics of Lucy. My Beagle, Little Bit, steals my strawberries that are edging the front flowerbed.

My Shepherd loves tomatoes and hunts until he finds the best one available. He’s such an appetite for ripe tomatoes that I have to lock him out of the garden.
