Do you have a weather app on your phone? It’s one of the few apps I have and I LOVE it.

planting spring peas

Every morning before I hop out of bed I check the weather app on my phone to see what the weather is going to be like for the day. I really like how it breaks the forecast down hour by hour. Yesterday it told be there would be no rain between 8am and 10am. So you can bet your bottom dollar I was up and working outside at 8am getting the second round of peas and potatoes in.

I planted two rows of shelling peas at the back of each garden bed and vining sugar snap peas in containers along the back patio. Overseeding in case of rot or birds. 😉

And then sprinkled a little Sluggo around the peas for protection against the slugs.

I don’t know about you, but I love this time of year. There is so much to do… and so many possibilities. Working in the garden is like Christmas everyday for me in early spring.

Have a great day everyone, and get those hands dirty! 😉

I have a row of peas sprouting and got our potatoes in yesterday. When I first saw you pic holding the peas I thought you had harvested. I was disappointed that you didn’t have a “grow peas all year long” secret!

I sprinkled Sluggo out today. I didn’t realize when a bought the smaller can that maybe I should have bought your size jug. I have fingers crossed though, I want to start planting this next week. I may have to go get another can to make sure I covered everything. I’m super excited to start my bean and cuke plants. And zucchini now that I found I love their pickles and relish.. Garden on Mavis 🙂
