raised garden beds

Last night the HH surprised me by sharing a few pictures of our vegetable garden back home and let me tell you Bob, everything’s SO GREEN. I am impressed! The garden is still ALIVE. The raspberry plants are getting crazy tall, and those onions…. Way to go HH and Monkey Boy. 🙂

raised garden beds

It’s hard to see but I planted a row of lettuce seeds in front of the onions and so far so good. I guess the heat spell we had back home didn’t seem to bother the germination process. I can see a few beet greens and a faint line of carrots as well. But those peas… they are flopping over and will need to be supported a little more.

Clearly the sugar snap peas have not figured out they are supposed to cling on to the teepee. Hmmm. I may have to have the HH run a line of twine around the group and train them to hang on.

tomato plants

Our 9 {or was it 10?} tomato plants are looking strong.

And the escarole I planted at the base of the tomato plants in the stock tank are growing like mad. I don’t know about you, but I AM SHOCKED everything looks so good and healthy. I should’ve never doubted the boys and I’m very excited that I’ll have a full blown garden to come home to in a few weeks.

Well done boys, well done.

XOXO Mavis

Lovely garden! I am curious and dying to know; do the flamingos actually do anything, like keep other birds away, or are they just for fun? 🙂
