Yesterday Lucy and her flock searched for bugs and basked in the sunshine while I puttered around the garden. It’s weird you know… just having 2 garden boxes as opposed to 17 at our old house.
I feel lazy. All my work can be done in minutes rather than hours and I don’t quite know what to do with myself. True, there’s rug hooking, working online, house projects and travel planning, but still, something’s missing.
Onions and radishes reaching for the sun as it goes down.
Escarole Lettuce starts. Have you tried this variety? They are one of the most beautiful heads of lettuce when fully grown.
A nice mix of Mesclun lettuce.
I counted my Meyer lemons yesterday and there are 18 WAITING to ripen. I still can’t believe it. Maybe I should try a lime tree next. Or maybe some sort or petite orange tree. Seriously, if I can grow citrus, you can too. Everyday I give them a little squeeze hoping today’s the day I get to pick one. I’m not sure how much longer I’ll have to wait… but a batch of fresh lemon curd is priority #1 when I do get finally harvest them.
Have a great sunday everyone,
