The end of this year’s blueberries. Sniff sniff.
The next few days are going to be in the upper 80’s and all I can say to myself is please don’t bolt, please don’t bolt, please don’t bolt.
Cured and ready for storage.
Forget Starbucks. Not only does the bank offer free suckers and dog biscuits at the drive through window, but you can also get a free cup of self serve coffee, tea or cocoa in the lobby. Note to self: Add the bank to my daily walking route this fall. 🙂
Seriously. How hard is it to change the empty roll of toilet paper and to put the cardboard in the recycle bin? Does your husband do this? Does he leave you little “presents” all over the house or am I the only lucky one?
Have a great weekend everyone,

OMG! The toilet paper roll… my husband will set it on the floor underneath the toilet paper where my dog will find it and tear it to bits. Then I get to stumble across it and clean it up. Fun! And he’s so proud of himself for actually changing out the roll. Baby steps, I guess.

Seriously, the TP! It is a serious problem at our house. So much so that i have a sign very conveniently placed just above the tp roll holder which reads, “Changing the toilet paper will not cause brain damage.”

It seems to be a man thing. If they do change the roll, they don’t want to toss the cardboard

Tp inserts are all over my house. My husband throws them to the cat–who follows him into the bathroom–and they play with them. When my husband leaves the room, the cat bats the insert under, over, and through everything in the house. Guess who discovers them while vacuuming!!
By-the-way, 85 degrees is nothing. We’ve been having triple digits down here, not to mention the drought, for the longest time and my veg garden is crispy. I’ll try again in a month or so, as we have year-round gardening in SoCal.
I sure miss Washington, though. I was born in Tacoma and still have family all over the state. One reason I love your blog.

Love your onions. How do you store them? I am in FL so it is almost impossible but I can cut them up and freeze them. 🙂
TP rolls? Sheesh, don’t even with me, lololol

Hey, at least he changed the roll! LOL

You’re not alone, Mavis. My husband seems to have a deeply held objection to picking up little things. Opened mail, raamen (yuck!) wrappers, old receipts, to name just a few. I say something now and then and he does better for a few days, then it’s back to his old habits. I started putting things on his dresser to take care of, and they stay there gathering dust – forever!

A lot of great garden comments that could have generated some comments, but I knew that it would be all about the TP, and I wasn’t disappointed…really is it that exhausting to change the roll and throw away the tube…if hubby ever actually did it, he would be ready for a nap!

RE: bolting broccoli, thank God I’m no good with seeds and only wait for the “starts” to plant…they aren’t usually out until the coldish season of “fall and winter”….. but with California’s weird winter like last year and the year before there’s been a lot more bolting than there should.
As for the toilet paper rolls…… I have a daughter who is incapable of walking to her bathroom cupboard and get more than ONE roll….. we have an “on deck” TP keeper by the toilet. It keeps 5 rolls….. it remains empty, except for the single roll she gets out each time….. oh, and the cardboard? I’ve boycotted the process and we’re currently up to 4 left behind. AAARRRRG
Thank God for the garden….. Jane
