Weeds. They are a sign of spring, right?
Yesterday I raked leaves and pulled the weeds along the side yard and let me tell you Bob, it looks so much better. Ideally I’d like to get some mulch worked into the area, but that will have to wait until later in the month.
I’ve decided to go ahead and order 5 yards of Tagro to spruce up the garden beds. I was going to try and haul it for free, but I think in the long run it will be a major time saver to just pay the delivery fee and get it over with.
Now, if I could just get it to stop raining so I could order the mulch, because if there is one thing I’ve learned over the years it’s that wet mulch is a major pain to haul.
Keep calm and garden on, spring {and dry skies} are right around the corner.
Have a great weekend everyone,
~Mavis

I’m jealous! Here in West Michigan we received 12 inches of snow on Thursday. I am ready for spring!

Mulch is being distributed here this weekend. We live in Coastal Georgia so warmer and drier than your area. Do you use a pitchfork to fill your container or flowerbed? Much better than a shovel! Mulch on!!

So jealous! Here in Northern Ohio we are still getting some wet snow. March and April tend to be very wet so by the time we hit mid May, the weeds have shot up overnight and you feel like you’re starting off behind before you have started. Be that as it may, can’t wait to get started!

Ugh Those little rosette shaped weeds in the first picture! Anyone know their name? All over my garden beds. To work soon or they will set seed….

The common name is shot weed and while annoying and silly to harvest and obviously not to be (shudder) cultivated. The are edible and pretty tasty. Like mustard greens.

My kid calls them Leprechaun Ferns.
